Hi to all the staff at Truffles,
Last night myself and my girlfriend paid our first visit to Truffles.
I would just like to thank you for probably the best meal we have ever had and making our 1st year anniversary together perfect.
Everything from the look and style of the restaurant, the friendly staff and great food, means we will be calling again.
Kind regards,

"I have eaten at Truffles on countless occasions, and it has always been fantastic. I`m writing this recommendation because i`m going to the Thai night with my friends, and I`m so excited about it that I was reading the menu again and saw this link. Try this restaurant! the food is beautiful, especially the gourmet nights...I promise that you will never have had anything like it. Also, I used to work there so I know that the kitchen is spotless and the food is all fresh and home cooked...right down to the petit fours which I hated making. Anyway, I can`t think of a better recommendation that one from someone who has seen all the goings on and still counts this restaurant as far and away the best. So thank you James in advance for the fantastic meal that we’ll be having on Friday, but no thanks for ensuring that I whinge about every other meal I go out for, as I compare it to those at Truffles."
On Thursday 1st April we had our first meal at Truffles Restaurant. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and wanted to go somewhere local, but also somewhere different. We had seen a sample menu, and thought the meals sounded very appealing. Our first impression of the restaurant was very good. It was modern, contemporary, but also felt comfortable and inviting, and the lighting was perfect!
We couldn't have been more impressed by every single part of our experience. The food was beautifully presented, and was perfect in quality and flavour, and we were so impressed by the friendly, personal service given all the way through the meal by Kat, the waitress and James, the Owner/Chef.
We left the restaurant after a couple of delightful hours, and have promised ourselves to go back again very soon.
We can't believe that such a fantastic restaurant has been right on our doorstep, without us realising it before!
Many thanks, James, for a lovely evening!
Margaret and Dave Baker.

I have never done this before but after visiting Truffles I felt that it deserved a recommendation. Our night of dining at the restaurant was superb. The food was excellent and the service at table was very good. The staff were very attentive and the chef gave a final touch of coming to the table to see that we had enjoyed our meal, a very nice touch. Would gladly recommend Truffles, a gourmet's delight.

We attended your restaurant for your special Indian night on Friday evening (29th Jan 2010) as we have friends nearby who booked it. Unfortunately, our friend did not mention that my wife: Liz was a (awkward ;-) ) vegetarian who did not eat fish or eggs either. This was not an issue, Liz would eat poppadoms until the cows come home to be honest. However, you made every effort for her and really went above and beyond expectations. The food for all of us was immense. I have never tasted such a varied range of flavours like it and was not aware Indian food could be so different. Liz echoed my sentiments. I have never written to a chef/restaurant or done anything like this before and we often dine in the very best restaurants in Manchester.
I am merely writing to express what an exceptional evening we all had, how excellent the food was, how fantastic the service was and above all, how appreciative both my wife and I are of the effort you made at such short notice to deliver a perfect bespoke vegetarian option to her. If there is anywhere I can post a recommendation that you will benefit from, please do not hesitate to let me know and I will ensure I do it.
Please also rest assured I will certainly revisit your establishment when we are next in the area (and we will give plenty of warning as to my wife’s attendance!).
Thank you once again for making our evening so special
Kind regards,
Roger

Truffles is by far the best restaurant in the area, the choice of food and wine is excellent. The service was fantastic with attentive staff and a chef that actually takes an interest in the views of the customers!! Yet to try a gourmet evening but all the menus look so tempting!! Would definitely recommend for any occasion - special or just a Saturday night out.
Invited by two friends for a mid week meal, we were a little apprehensive as the restaurant doesn't look terribly appealing from the outside. The reception area, bar and dining area are super, newly furnished, modern , very comfortable and inviting but scratch below the surface and there is a lot of work needs doing, toilets etc. However, this is a fabulous restaurant in the making as the welcome was reassuring and the food was exceptional. Presentable, delicious, a super fusion of tastes in each dish, excellent selection of wines and fantastic service. See you there .

I discovered Truffles purely by accident several years ago & although it is some thirty miles from my home it has become my favourite restaurant since that first visit. Truffles is a restaurant where I am able to take my family & friends with confidence that my guests will enjoy a meal of very high standard, in an ambiance that is only found in a few restaurants today & where the service provided is truly excellent. Dining or lunching at Truffles is an eating experience not to be missed & I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant whether it is for a meal from the standard menu or for a meal from any of the almost monthly gourmet menus covering cuisine from countries in Europe & Aisia.

we have been to truffles twice and both times the food was excellent. this restaurant doesn't seem that well known, i can't think why, as the food and venue is great.

Dined here on Saturday evening, the service was fab and the food was amazing, it really puts every other place in the area to shame. The Red Cat used to be my favorite my opinion has now changed.

"We have eaten here several times, and always rate it for special occasions. Last night we went to the Indian gourmet night - it was superb, the best indian food we have ever tasted, we enjoyed dishes that we had never heard of before, and joy of joy beautiful Indian desserts all served with Truffles usual attention to detail and attentive pleasant staff, can't wait to try another gourmet night!! We held our wedding breakfast and evening reception at Truffles on 28th December 2008. It provided for the most romantic afternoon and evening with all our guests enjoying the food (which you can take for granted ! ) and the service. The style of the venue is so romantic and classy that it provides a fantastic backdrop for a special day. In the months leading up to the wedding, James Ford (The owner and chef) worked with us to ensure we got just the day we wanted. We would recommend Truffles to anyone who wants a special, personalised day/night to remember. Thanks James !

Went to Truffles for my 40th birthday with my hubby and enjoyed every aspect of it. The decor and ambience are superb, not to mention the lighting (which changes colour)
The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The staff were courteous and attentive. The prices are very reasonable and the choice extensive. Went on the first time it opened on Monday a Monday night and will definitely be returning. Fabulous! Cant wait to try a gourmet evening.

We recently attended a Wedding Reception at Truffles (29/11/08).
The food was superb, both at the main wedding reception and during the evening reception. The service was excellent and James, the proprietor/chef, came around personally to see if everyone was happy with their meal. He certainly had no complaints! On the menu was smoked salmon, fresh salmon, a chicken dish and many more - and the starters and desserts were fantastic. We would certainly visit again.

Truffles is the easily best restaurant in the district. The food is always fabulous and looks as good as it tastes and the ambience is wonderfully relaxed with soft music and contemporary decor. Above all, James the Chef cares passionately about food and takes the time to talk to everyone. What are you waiting for?

My husband and I had the good fortune to visit Truffles for the 'Indian Gourmet Evening' on 28th March 2008. As long time and devoted customers of this restaurant it was hard to image that anything could surpass the usual excellenct standard of fare and service provided by James and his staff. My husband and I are great lovers of Indian spiced food, however, from the first, to the last course, we were given a taste of India that bears no relation to the usual meals served in traditional restaurants. The combination of subtle spices (the Sea Bass in Coconut & Coriander being a prime example), were a delight. We cannot fault the evening at all and, although we will be away on holiday for the French Gourmet evening we will certainly be booking for the Thai Goumet meal. If it in any way achieves the standard of the Indian experience we shall come away with a new respect for the cuisine of Thailand. Please try this restaurant. I can promise that you will not be disappointed.

This is a GREAT restaurant that I would highly recommend. The price is higher than average for the area, but don't let it put you off as the quality of food you receive is excellent. The staff are very friendly, and the chef comes to speak to you after your meal, which is a refreshing change.
10/10 – Keep up the good work.

This is absolutely my favourite restaurant. I drag everyone who comes to visit here, and I always get a warm welcome from Karen the Manager and James the owner. I’m really fussy with my food, and although the menu is huge, I often ask for a bit of tweaking here and there, which is never a problem. The staff can’t do enough for you, but they are never invasive. The place is beautiful, the food is fabulous, the service is attentive and the atmosphere is warm. Unfortunately, I suspect that the food may contain calories.

I am really impressed with everything about this nice place.. everything was excellent, the food, service, the welcoming attitude of the staff including the chef. what has really impressed me was the presentation of the dishes, superb! care was taken with every other detail, the dim lights, the jazzy comforting music. I was very proud when I felt my guests were so pleased.

We only live locally and visited a few times last summer with some friends we had over from Australia. We promised ourselves to make the time to go more often. We went again for the first time since last year last Thursday and had a lovely meal. We missed James though, I don’t think he was working as he always spares the time during the night to some out and chat with you.

This is a superb restaurant. I've eaten in many of the best, and this is equal or better than most, including some of the big names. I feel that this should be in all the good food guides. Well done to James Ford for making our evening one to be remembered for my wife, my guests and me!

My Wife and I have dined here on numerous occasions, and will continue to do so for many years to come. The service is outstanding. The only problem with the place is the menu is just too good!! I can highly recommend the black pudding starters, the fillet steak (which the chef tells me is sourced locally) literally melts in your mouth and is always cooked to perfection no matter what your taste, and the trio of desserts is a perfect way to end what is always a perfect evening. I pity the people who have never been!

I visited Truffles restaurant last week with my husband and family and have bored all my friends to death about how much we enjoyed it. The menu is fantastic, and there were traditional and more adventurous items on the menu so all of our party were happy…a good selection of veggie stuff too. I had monkfish in tamarind, lime and coconut broth and it was delicious. All portions were very generous too-nouvelle cuisine without the stinginess! Also, a really nice touch was that the chef/owner came out of the kitchen to chat to all the customers and to ask if everything was alright, which made us feel really pampered. One more thing-try the assiette of desserts. Three different desserts on one plate. Heaven!
Truffles restaurant has a reputation for producing a fine dining
